About Me
Michael is the Director of the Center for Student Advocacy & Community at the University of Houston. He has 17 years of experience in higher education, working in areas of Admissions, Residence Life, Multicultural Affairs, and Campus Activities. He is certified as an Intercultural Consultant with the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), LLC, and as a GALLUP® Certified Strengths Coach. He is also the owner of his own consulting and facilitation company, Activate Community, LLC
Michael was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado in a multi-cultural, small business owning, military family. He is deeply committed to building communities where everyone feels accepted and supported in discovering themselves, pursuing their goals, and reaching their full potential. He loves learning, running, volleyball, chess, music, audiobooks, people and their stories, and feeling helpful.
