The University of Houston does not maintain its own sanitary sewer system or stormwater system. Runoff and stormwater go through storm drains to nearby bayous. The sanitary sewer system for the University goes to the City of Houston's system. Some activities require pretreatment or interceptors before wastewater can be discharged.
