Apply for Admission

Required Secondary Academic Records

Freshman applicants must submit official high school (secondary school) transcripts, mark sheets, diplomas, certificates and national/external exam scores for coursework for years 9-12 (or equivalent years). Academic records not issued in English must be in the original language and include a certified literal English translation prepared by the issuing school, Ministry of Education, Consulate/Embassy, Education USA or a certified translation service. The University of Houston requires official transcripts but will accept an uploaded copy of official transcripts for any schools outside of the U.S. to complete your application. We will require official copies of your final academic records should you be admitted.

After Admission

Prior to enrolling, students admitted to UH are required to submit official final secondary school transcripts, diplomas, certificates and national/external exam scores demonstrating the completion of secondary education for their country or international curriculum. Official academic records must be sent directly to the Office of Admissions at UH from the issuing institution’s records by mail or through a secure electronic transcript service.

International Transcript Guidelines

  • Applicants from secondary curriculums with national/external exams must have the official exam results/certificates sent directly from the issuing agency submitted to UH. Review the tables below for international transcript requirements that apply to your specific country or international curriculum.
