Training

The clinical psychology Ph.D. program at UH offers a clinical neuropsychology training experience that follows the guidelines of the Minnesota and Houston Conference on Specialty Education and Education and Training in Clinical Neuropsychology. The program also meets American Psychological Association’s definition of a “major area of study."” CN students receive generalist training as clinical psychologists alongside advanced specialty training in the competencies of clinical neuropsychology that includes coursework, independent and collaborative research, and supervised clinical practica. Upon entry into the program,  students work collaboratively with their mentors to complete Individualized Development Plans (IDPs) that set short- and long-term training objectives, activities, and productivity benchmarks.
